PURPENDICULAR feat IAN PAICE will perform at this year’s edition of Drum Fest!

The first part of the concert will feature the TSA MNK band (Lekki Michalski Niekrasz Kapłon Wester), a Polish rock band officially founded on June 13, 2019, by Janusz Niekrasz, Marek Kapłon and Damian Michalski. The band creates a separate yet parallel artistic venture aimed at continuing the musical traditions of the TSA band and composing a new repertoire.

Ian Paice is the only original member of Deep Purple who played in all incarnations of the group (1968-76, 1984-). He was inspired by jazz drummers such as Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. He made guest appearances on albums by many artists, including Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Jim Capaldi. He has also toured with Pete York, Whitesnake and with Gary Moore. Now he’s going on tour with Purpendicular to present the Best-Of-Classic-Deep-Purple-Show on stage. This November, on Saturday the 25th, we will be able to hear such Deep Purple classics as “Child In Time,” “Black Night,” “Smoke On The Water,” “Woman From Tokyo”, “Hush.” Deep Purple is one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all times since the 1970s, and Paice’s drum playing skills and techniques had a huge impact on this.

Purpendicular is a band that plays Deep Purple at its best, closest to the original. During their concert, you will hear everything:
from DP hits through less known songs to pieces which Ian Gillan & Co. never played.
Purpendicular was formed in October 2007 by Irish singer Robby Thomas Walsh and Austrian guitarist Joe Doblhofer. Deep Purple’s original drummer, Ian Paice, played with the band during their first European tour.
Since Deep Purple didn’t want to play on the Machine Head 40th Anniversary Tour, the honour fell to Purpendicular. In 2012 they performed at the official Machine Head 40th Anniversary Tour. During one of the concerts, Roger Glover, Deep Purple’s original bassist appeared on stage. In 2017, the band released Venus to Volcanus, an album they recorded with Toni Carey. The current tour promotes the band’s latest album, Human Mechanic.

The band’s lineup:

Nick Fyffe (UK) – bass, (ex Jamiroquai).

Herbert Bucher (DE) – guitars, (ex Tony Carey)

Ian Paice (UK) – drums, (Deep Purple).

Robby Thomas Walsh (IRL) – vocals, (ex Joe Lynn Turner)

Christoph Kogler (AUT) – keyboards, (ex Billy Sheehan)

You are cordially invited to the concert, which will take place on November 25 at CWK!!!
