MORIBAYA, NOVEMBER 19 IN PSM

Moribaya is a group with an international lineup of artists from Poland, Australia, Burkina Faso and Ukraine who were brought together by their love of traditional West African music. Common passion became the reason to create this multicultural, colourful collective.
The band is infected with layers of positive energy of the African sun and the joy of playing live music.

The vibrant, trance-like music of the drums, the beautiful singing of the talented Ukrainian singer who sings in African languages, and the virtuosic playing of the balafon and kora make each concert a thrilling journey to the African sources of rhythm. The group’s repertoire is inspired by the traditional music from West Africa: Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali and Ivory Coast. The group presents traditional melodies and rhythms in their arrangements and compositions that maintain the style. The unique sound of the band is based on original instruments such as African djembe and dundun drums, kora – African harp, balafons, talking drum and others, which the band brings back from numerous trips to the West African region.

The band consists of Anika Kaminska, Paul Grocott, Noums Dembele, Margarita Udovichenko, Karol Kot

Their latest album, “Saba”, was released in February 2023.
